Cookie Policy
A short, honest explanation of what we store in your browser and why.
Overview
This Cookie Policy explains how GPT Image 2 ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies (collectively, "browser storage") on images2gpt.com. It is part of our Privacy Policy.
What we store
The Service uses two pieces of strictly-necessary browser storage. We do not set traditional HTTP cookies for our own purposes; we use the more privacy-friendly localStorage mechanism.
| Key | Type | Purpose | Lifespan | Necessary? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
gi2_token |
localStorage | Stores your opaque session token after sign-in so we can recognise you on subsequent requests. | Until you sign out, or 30 days, whichever comes first. | Yes 鈥?strictly necessary for authentication. |
gi2_anon_used |
localStorage | A boolean ("1") set after a non-signed-in visitor uses the one free image generation. Helps the UI show "sign in to continue" without an extra round-trip. | Until cleared (no expiry), or until you sign in. | Yes 鈥?strictly necessary for free-trial UX. |
Third-party cookies
Pages on our site may load third-party assets that themselves can set cookies in your browser:
- Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com,fonts.gstatic.com) 鈥?serves the Inter typeface. Fonts are embedded from Google's CDN; Google may log requests in line with its own policy.
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, advertising cookies, or any cross-site behavioural-tracking technology. If we ever introduce analytics, we will use a privacy-preserving option (such as anonymised, server-side analytics) and update this page.
Server-side abuse-prevention storage
For visitors who use the free trial without signing in, our backend stores a single key-value entry in our edge key-value store, keyed on your IP address, indicating "this IP has used its free generation". This is not a cookie and is not stored in your browser; it lives on our servers and expires automatically after 90 days. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How to control browser storage
You can clear localStorage at any time from your browser's settings (typically: Settings 鈫?Privacy 鈫?Clear browsing data 鈫?Site data). Doing so will sign you out and reset your free-trial flag. Most browsers also let you block storage on a per-site basis; doing so will prevent the Service from working correctly.
Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
Because we do not run behavioural tracking, "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals do not change anything about how we operate.
Changes
If we add, remove, or change browser-storage keys we will update the table above and the "Last updated" date.
